La société Digital Anarchy, basé à San Francisco a été créée par un ex programmeur d’ILM, Jim Tierney en avril 2001. Au départ seulement adapté pour ‘After Effect d’Adobe, Digital Anarchy réalise des outils afin d’améliorer les images et séquence vidéo. La société s’adresse aux monteurs, graphistes, designers, photographes.

Digital Anarchy a d’ailleurs développé un plug in nommé Flicker Free qui permet d’atténuer fortement les effets de scintillement voire de les supprimer.

L’effets de scintillement (ou papillotement de la lumière) est la conséquence des variations brutales de l’intensité lumineuse, du framerate peu élévé (Super 8 à 18 image par seconde par exemple) ou par l’obturateur de l’appareil de captation. Cet effet désagréable de scintillement apparaît aussi sur les ralentie (slow motion) et les  timelapse.
Le plug in Flicker Free s’avère particulièrement efficace bien que lourd en puissance de calcul que ce soit en HD, 2K et 4K.
Il peu s’installer sur votre « banc de montage » habituel (Première Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final cut pro, Etc)
